    What is a closed-won handoff?

A closed-won handoff is the transfer of a customer's context from Sales to Customer Success when a deal signs, including why they bought, what they were promised, and the terms they agreed to.

A useful handoff record carries four things. It says who the customer is and where they came from, why they bought, what was promised, and what the key commercial terms are. Map one customer ID across the CRM, billing, product, and support so records can be matched. Reliable matching matters more than perfect data.

Without it, Customer Success starts from an account name and a contract file, and the customer explains everything again. That raises early churn and lets agreed renewal terms, such as uplifts, go unnoticed, which lowers the return on the acquisition spend that won the deal.
